What’s Up with CBD?

It seems everywhere you turn there’s a new CBD product on the Internet and in stores where purchasing CBD is legal, more on that in a minute. Users are consuming CBD in a wide range of methods from vaping the oil to smoking it in bud form, and consuming it in CBD-infused gummies, candies and chocolates. Some companies are even infusing their coffee beans with CBD. Bath bombs and lotions are hitting the shelves too. As many methods of use are being invented and marketed, there are even more reasons people are using it. CBD is being used to treat dozens of chronic conditions, and the demand for Cannabidiol (CBD) has risen steeply. But what’s all the fuss about?

Why CBD?
According to CBDOrigin.com, scientific research shows CBD benefits more than fifty conditions including arthritis, anxiety, epilepsy, osteoporosis and more. CBD is being studied in clinical trials for everything from addiction to ALS, depression to Huntington’s disease and there’s a host of cancer clinical trials too.

Is CBD Legal?
Currently, CBD is legal at various levels in 46 states. In some states it’s completely illegal, in others, before you can purchase any CBD product you must have a medical prescription issued by a certified medical doctor.

Current CBD Market
Right now the CBD market is a money-grab and will continue to be until the FDA clamps down. As clinical trials end and the drugs being tested receive FDA approval, the CBD market will likely change drastically.

Unscrupulous Advertisers
Currently with no FDA approvals needed for CBD products, many retail products are of poor quality with either too much or too little CBD in product and other ingredients are not closely monitored either. The snake oil salesmen of yesteryear unfortunately are overloading the market with fraudulent products, especially in the affiliate market. These fraudulent products have little or no active ingredients, are being advertised unscrupulously and shipped to unsuspecting customers. As in the case with Dr. Oz and the diet supplement, Labrada Garcinia Cambogia and Labrada Green Coffee Beach Extract, it’s happening again in the CBD market.
