Dr. Arlen oversees all scientific activities on behalf of Diverse Biotech, including therapeutic research and development. Prior to joining Diverse Biotech, Philip directed outreach and commercialization efforts for the Conrad Prebys Center for Chemical Genomics at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, and was Chief Scientific Officer of Revolution Medicine, an early-stage medical informatics company he co-founded that provides personalized medicine solutions.
Philip’s career began at the Prostate Cancer Foundation, where he helped Michael Milken create the first nationwide network for translational research in prostate cancer. Following graduate work in HIV pathogenesis and post-doctoral research in plant biotechnology, he was a faculty member at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando, Florida, where he studied the relationship between cancer and the immune system, with specific areas of focus in cancer vaccines, tumor biomarkers, and immunodiagnostics.
Dr. Arlen earned a BS in Biology from Cornell University and PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
